Me almost to the letter. I only download about 80% of what I watch, though. I have a 3TB drive dedicated to anime.
I guess today it's more the internet generation of streaming. If you just want to watch a series, then you usually go on a streaming site and watch it especially if you want to watch a series with friends or at other's places. Downloading a series is usually used if you want to keep a series because you really like it or want to have it in HD quality. You keep them on an external hard drive, burn it on DVD or BluRay or just connect the harddrive to a media device (like a gaming console, a TV, a media player device for home entertainment, ...) to watch it on a TV for example. But I guess nobody downloads a complete series first anymore before watching a few episodes before at least. I also wouldn't like to download a full series first just to delete it again because the series sucks.
I usually download an entire series first and then if I don't like it delete it later on. The main reason is because depending on the show and when it was made will effect how long the torrent takes to download. I tend to commit myself to watching the entirety of something, even if I don't like it for the sake of completion. Plus you never know, much like with television a few episodes does not make the series and you might end up liking it later.
