You heard the rumors from the most unreliable of sources (aka THE GAMER) and yes, it’s official; SONY plans to shut down the PS3 and PSP PlayStation stores on July 2nd, (ironically on the release date of the original Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA) with the PS Vita Store shutting down on August 27th.

This generally means that you will no longer be able to purchase games, video content, DLC, and so on digitally, legitimately on the actual hardware. (Not that it matters anyways with the nature of these devices’ post-shelf life) With Redownloading titles, PS3 & PS Vita Cross-Save and Cross Buy, that will still be available (again, post-shelf life)

Look here for more details: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/important-notice/

Titles (DLC included) that will no longer be available for purchase:

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F on both PS3 and PS Vita
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F2nd, on both PS3 & PS Vita
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X on PS Vita

While I am not savvy with Japan; this probably also applies to:

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA on PSP
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd on PSP
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Extend on PSP
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater on PS3
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater 2nd on PS3
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater Extend on PS3

With the release of the PS5 late last year, and the discontinuation of the Wii Shop Channel in 2019, it was inevitable.

I suppose this ends up justifying Project DIVA Mega Mix’s existence more than people would give it credit for, which is good, because it’s on sale: (until April 14th)

If you want further proof of the company’s ambivalence when it comes to legacy content; beyond the PS Classic’s mediocrity, from the man who later became SIE’s president:

Fat Vita is actually fun to play with. Like think about it: a GBA with OLED screen.

Too bad mGBA wasn't that interested in hardware acceleration on Vita.

Also there's SM64-PC port for Vita as well. From what I heard it runs better than the 3D All Star port :P.

At least the Wii and DSi didn’t have this form of physical DRM.

That's an unfortunate compromise you have to make when you make the accounts shareable across different machines. Otherwise people can just disconnect the network, remotely kick the machine, pull out the RTC battery and call it a day. (But they can probably do something smarter like restrict how many unique machines one can login/refresh the licenses per month) Switch might have something similar since Ninty finally starts to allow account sharing.

The only thing we can hope is that they will push a final update before the server shuts down to make all the licenses never expire before and after any date.

I think may be for 1-2 years games can be downloaded using NoPSN or how that possibility called, when official servers used to download game to hacked console. Or not official, I still do not know? But at this case I need only to buy bigger memory card and download more games before everything will be finally closed.

But I'm still amazed how shitty Sony works, that it hasn't feedback and doesn't want to have it, because situation was something like in real life, when power do not want to have feedback from people and the only way to say something - is to go to the rally on the street to organize the protest and only after that they (maybe) understand that they doing something wrong. But again, for now I do not feel that they want to do something for gamers, especially after closing Japan Studio and other studios that made many small, but amazing games, because sony now wants to make only blockbusters in open world. I do not need that shit. So may be at first time from the last 15 years (because I had xbox360 15 years ago) I again look positively to xbox.

While people were getting bowled over by the identity of Smash Ultimate’s Fighter #82, SONY just made the unfortunate announcement that starting October 27th, you will be unable to add funds to the PS3 & PS Vita PlayStation Stores via Credit Card or PayPal:

    https://www.videogameschronicle.com...credit-debit-card-and-paypal-payment-options/

Of course this means that like with the Wii Shop Channel before it; it’s only a matter of time before SONY pulls the plug on both storefronts afterwards. This also means that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F & Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F2nd will be delisted completely, alongside Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X for PlayStation Vita, on top of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater 2nd, and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater Extend on PlayStation 3 in Japan. (Not including Miku Miku Hockey for PlayStation Vita, we don’t count that one)

Naturally, this means that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix for Nintendo Switch is the only portable mainline (Arcade) entry to remain widely available, like it or not, that’s our current reality.

I hope PKGj app for Vita will work and I there will be possible download games for free, because sony will not take any cent from me.
