After the blog Japanator posted some interesting news, saying an early leak of an unnamed game magazine (the Famitsu) contained the announcement of aforementioned game - and after seeing the scans ourselves, we can now confirm: the next game in the series, Project DIVA f 2nd, is on it's way.
Details are rare right now, but it seems the game will be released for both Vita and PS3, and is, as is tradition, "39% complete". The first three songs are Romeo and Cinderella and Colorful x Melody, returning from Project DIVA 2nd, and, as a new track, Akatsuki Arrival (Daybreak Arrival) by Last Note.

From the screenshots, the new entry to the Project DIVA series seems very similar to Project DIVA F. The PVs and modules for Romeo and Cinderella and Colorful x Melody come straight from the old Project DIVA 2nd, and while they obviously got a makeover to improve their look, they are still the same as in PD2. The returning modules are still called Vintage Dress (Romeo and Cinderella), Colorful Drop and Colorful Candy (Colorful x Melody).
Akatsuki Arrival, a Miku and Luka song appearing in Project DIVA for the first time, comes with two new modules, too - Avantgarde (Miku) and Successor (Luka), based on the clothing of the singers in the original PV of the song.

The release is planned for Spring 2014, and Project DIVA F 2nd will be released on both Vita and PS3.

In case you want to see some more screenshots, you can check the official PDF2 site or take a look at the scans of the Famitsu issue:

Don't tell me they're just going recycle songs from the psp series. I am excited if there is going to be a sequel but I hope theres a good amount of new songs and some variety between the amount of songs each vocaloid gets.

I'm hoping for a confirmation soon!

The title Project DIVA f 2nd seems a little awkward, but whatever. I'm happy to see a sequel may already be on it's way!

Well, it's good if the rumor is true. Even more I'M EXPLODE TO HEAR IT IF IT WAS TRUE! But what I expect from a sequel is GRAPHICS! They must make the graphics even better than the old one or they could make it even better than Dreamy Theater graphics! =)

Now my main problem is, do I import the Japanese version again, or do I wait to see if they release an english version x.X I'd like english version, but I wouldn't like having to wait for it XD

I don't use my PS3 very much so I'll probably just import the Vita version. I'd still buy an English version if they released it though!

Its probably true. I think Project Diva F had good sales so cant see a reason not to produce another one. Sega need to milk the franchise as much as possible :D
I wouldn't have any problems if they kept the graphics the same as the Vita/PS3 versions but would like to see a decent playlist with a lot of new songs.

I wonder if this might of been the reason they had the survey of old songs and modules

Re: Project DIVA f 2nd leaked!

Romeo and Cinderella sure didnt interest me, hopefully they will be able to introduce better songs, the rest is fine tough.

More info here: http://www.siliconera.com/2013/07/09/ha ... ring-2014/ (never mind, kyrika already posted lol)
Eitheir way dont get hyped so soon as they need 1 year of development for this at least (like they say around Spring 2014)

as for graphics they could improve a bit but nothing that big as people think,
what will probably happen this time (if it happens) is running Project Diva f in native resolution of Vita cause they didnt do it earlier.

    -GUMI
    -Gackupo
    -Kaito to Kaito V3
    -More Challenging
    -More than 50 songs
-Black Rock Shooter Modules(IF Black Rock Shooter PV is still there)
-Return of Hatsune Miku no Gekishou and Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu

Re: Project DIVA f 2nd leaked!

Looks like they used the Colorful x Melody (EDIT version) stage as a placeholder until they remake the actual stage.

If I were to guess what songs would return, they've probably hidden a hint in F.
The hint I'm thinking of are the EDIT stages imported from the PSP games and into F.

If this is fake, they're probably gonna release these songs as DLC because those screenshots look WAY too real to be faked.

It also seems way too early since the PS3 version was just released. Then again, Mirai 2 was announced 1 year after. F is also reaching its 1 year mark (on the Vita, at least). SEGA likes releasing Vocaloid games in patterns apparently.

    Nice broken links ORA :)

Updated the first post with the scans and some info, though I'm unsure about the Akatsuki Arrival module name for Luka - I could swear the second character is ワ, but it doesn't make sense. If you read it as ク though, you can translate it fine. That font is weird.

Re: Project DIVA f 2nd leaked! [Update Jul 10]

The kana is identical to the one used in Miku (ミク) so it's definitely a ク :)

Quite exciting news, I also have a feeling this is the reason they put old stages in PDF *hoping for Meltdown to return!*, I really like Romeo & Cinderella and I haven't heard the new song before, I'll check it out. I'm also glad there is new gameplay on the old songs as seen in the scans and I can't tell for certain but there are definitely new features to the gameplay.

Re: Project DIVA f 2nd leaked! [Update Jul 10]

Hmmm, SEGA should release it on PS4, think of the opportunities! 60 frames per second, finer details, more than 3 characters, touch screen on controller can be used as the scratch pad, etc.

If F sells well in the West, there's a 50/50 chance.
