Last night, Nintendo held the second Nintendo Direct conference this year in order to show the products coming on the Nintendo consoles. Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai was one of the products. A 5 minutes trailer was shown with a brief history for the VOCALOID before showing us some footage of the game.

In addition to the Nintendo Direct trailer, SEGA added on Japanese eShop two samples from Project Mirai, with Tricolor Air Line and LOL -lots of laugh-.

unfortunately you need a japanse console to connect to the japanse Nintendo eShop since the european console doesn't have a setting of changing the system language to japanese and we have a "E" or "U" firmware (actual: 3.0.0-6E european or 3.0.0-6U US) like on the nintendo wii (actual: 4.3E european, 4.3U US, 4.3J japanese and 4.3K korean).
i don't think the homebrew szene will hack the console so fast to disable all this region code stuff etc. since the DS and DSi got never hacked as well.
Well it is possible to load custom code into the consoles with the R4 card and it's clones or the other homebrew cards but the firmware of those consoles itself never got hacked. on a wii we would be to overwrite the firmware from "E" or "U" into a "J"-Firmware with the homebrew loader, bootmii installer and stuff. in addition USB-loaders on the wii are able to load japanese games and force games to load NTSC (on PAL consoles) or PAL50hz/PAL60hz (on NTSC consoles) no matter if original games or downloaded isos / wbfs-converted.
Maybe someone will code a regionfree loader for R4-3DS someday but that's all, we still won't be able to connect to the japanese store to get DLC and stuff in future unless we get a japanese console with firmware 3.0.0-6J or newer.

Sidenote (FOR NINTENDO CONSOLES ONLY): Every Firmware has an other palette of available languages. While "E" always offers the 5+ language palette of English, German, French, Spanish, Italian as base languages and for example netherlands, portugese and russian as additional languages on a 3DS (european games usually only contain the base languages), "U" only offers languages typical for US, Mexico and Canada. (English, French, Spanish/Latin, ....).
A japanese firmware would only contain japanese in katakana, hiragana and kanji and maybe (i'm not sure) chinese in modern and traditional version while a korean firmware only offers korean.

Microsoft and Sony offer all popular languages on their actual consoles.

A group of people is already working on a flashcard for the 3DS so don't worry.
