Hello everyone! i just got this game last night and so far i have been enjoying it a lot. Ive already beaten al the songs on easy, normal and hard but im having some problems getting perfect ranking on songs. is there a certain way that i could make it easier to get perfects. im playing on a Sanyo HD yv so im not sure if that really affects timing or anything. also, what is the requirement for getting a perfect. can i use help items?

    thanks guys!

Well you can play the game anyway you feel like, so you can use the help items at first and then eventually try to aim for a perfect without them. There really isn't too much of a technique to getting a perfect other than practice, luck and time. The more you push to do it, the less likely it will happen. The requirement for getting a perfect rank in a song is simply to complete it without getting a single SAFE, SAD or WORST note. Now the only thing I could suggest is to try practicing on songs you really like or do well with first.

while in the game where you are playing the PV, if u hit start, hit the 3rd options down called オプション and the last one starting with タイミング(timing) u can either increase or decrease to better help sync your notes if u feel your tv is having a slight delay. help items will definitely help get perfects if you don't mind knowing you had to use a handicap to reach that goal but lol the game will show an green heart icon beside your rank anyways so its still not quite the same as a perfect without help item. theres no actual ps trophy in this version for getting perfects unlike extend and diva 2nd DT, u can easily get platinum just by time not by skill, the only point of perfects is just your self satisfaction know u can play the song perfect.

One advice i can give you because I literally never liked these musical skill games like DDR or guitar hero but I loved vocaloid so it was my first time playing it too 2 months+ ago is that, although i did horrible at first, as soon as u can pass the song at standard or better, go up the next difficulty, until u unlocked all the songs at extreme and only played extreme, nothing else. although its brutal at first, your brain and reflexes will increase much more this way than trying to perfect normal and hard mode, you play so much better after you get used to the difficulty increase. Its not everyone's style but i found it really helped me being a new player to this type of genre. now i have more than half the songs on perfect in extreme mode, which is good enough for me lol, i got sidetracked and only make and play edits now instead of finishing the rest of the songs on perfect. ill probably do that on the english version.

Another thing don't use help items, they will only decrease your skill level + it costs game money and it does not give u additional money like challenge items do. I actually recommend trying with the cool master on the songs you can already pass as that does help train u to always concentrate. there is also 2 ways u can use the ps3 controller to play the songs, when i was new playing the normal and hard songs, I did what im pretty sure most players do, they actually move their thumb individually to press each button on the controller, which is fine but i found on certain extreme songs, my thumbs didnt have the stamina to do that steady throughout the whole song as im not used to pushing buttons that much in games and also at a strict pace. I eventually adapted a lazier way which is to only push square and triangle with my thumb and circle and x is always the middle of my thumb, which makes it very easy to switch inbetween notes without using as much stamina. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUfHqUpuhjc here is my game play using that style

Wow awesome! thanks for all the advice and tips. I know that I dont really need to get perfects but ive been playing musiv games for 10+ years now and its annoying knowing that i can get AAA's and Quad stars on DDR and ITG but cant perfect a song on easy T___T lol it's probably my timing so ill have to work on that. I think i saw that u can also hit the note using the Dpad? is that good or no?

yes, its actually good practice to alternate to increase the stamina on your left thumb, but most people they use right thumb only unless its fast notes, then they alternate. in that song there was only 2 parts where the notes overlapped the fast guitar strum in the beginning and one part where they sang 3 notes fast. so that was the only time i needed to use my left thumb other than the arrow notes. the songs with 200+bpm though u may need to alternate your thumbs even for the regular notes unless your main thumb can push individually that fast without losing the rhythm
