Do you have a japanese 3DS? Great! Do you also have access to the japanese eShop? Excellent, that means you can download the new Project mirai demo! [c][/c] The demo, which is available for free on the eShop in Japan, includes two songs (Tricolor Airline and LOL -lots of laugh-) and one AR mode (SING&SMILE). The latter needs an AR card, which can be downloaded and printed here: http://miku.sega.jp/miraitaiken/ARcard.pdf Just like all other 3DS demoes, it can be played only 30 times. There was no time limit stated for the distribution, it may end without notice. Source: Official Site
I played the demo, it's nice but a little short ! The two songs don't have the hard level. SEGA kept the colors from PlayStation buttons, it's a good thing since I'm not used to ABXY. Graphics aren't stunning for the Nendoroid part, but the 3D effect works pretty well on LOL -lots of laugh-.
So tell us more like how do you switch costumes, voices and other stuff? And did you tried the AR card?
So, you can't switch costumes or voices in the demo. The content is really light : you have Tricolor Airline and LOL -lots of laugh-, both with two difficult levels. I tried the AR card... Miku sings SING&SMILE and you can't do anything (you can only change the size of Miku). It works pretty well, but the poor quality camera is a shame. About the scoring system, you have COOL, OK, BAD and MISS. No more FINE, and OK seems to be the "new" SAFE. It is easy to have a S Rank (the maximum you can get) but it seems you need to hit only notes with a "COOL" to have a Perfect.
Well, it's not that Project Mirai is less harsh on scoring than Project DIVA, it's just a little different. The Circle Chance System looks easy, but we need to see more of the game, and the demo don't provide the hardest level. I can't say if COOL in Mirai is the equivalent of "COOL + FINE" from Project DIVA, but I think the game will provide some challenge. By the way, you have lots of additional bonuses, with BONUS et SP notes when you hit consecutive notes and rise your "level" displayed on the bottom screen.
That sounds interesting. I gotta buy a 3DS! ^^ Is there anything else you missed? Like, how about the Diva Room? I know that it's not exactly a "Diva Room" but it looks like it. And how does the 3D effect works for the whole game?
The 3D effect works pretty well in the menu. When you are playing, circles are displayed in the foreground, so the player isn't bothered by what happens in the PV. It's really nice, it helps me concentrate but I know someone for whom this isn't the case, he don't like this 3D effect. Because the foreground is used by the circles, the 3D effect is not very deep for the PV, but LOL looks nice in 3D. About the "DIVA Room", we see it on the main menu, but we can't interact (the only thing you can do is to rotate the camera with the slidepad). And the demo don't save your scores ! :( I'm just a little afraid about the content from the final game. Three difficult levels and around twenty musics, it will be very short.
There is a new demo on the Japanese eShop: Project Mirai Side-B, with My Time in two versions (Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin).
Always thought what is Project Mirai Side-B and I can't do anything about, now then I know its for demo lol
