If someone could please help me here I'd really appreciate it. And the issue here is about not just being able to edit the basic lists of things (songs, modules, titles, DIVA room, shop, edit). But to also be able to edit the descriptions, messaging of what something means like the title's condition (pic 1 & 2). And be able to edit the song lyrics (pic 3) knowing where it all goes (pic 4, what the 'x' should say). In other words, to get or make a translation file for PD2/# like there is for PD1 and extend. That I'd like to try getting it nearly 100% translated like PDextend is. Not only that, but to have images translated. Such as your profile, top & bottom of menus. And when you're about to start a song and it tells you your high score, max combo, and times cleared. Get these parts in english like you see in the extend too.
well, i can't help you because i lack knowledge. although now exists the patch in english at 90%, let's say it like that, i support your idea
Yeah, I could say the same thing about myself lacking knowledge. Because if you look at all the posts I've made from my profile, that's because I'm still trying to learn many things here. Now what about that english patch that's like 90%? Where can I get it? And the one I have is this https://projectdiva.wiki/wiki/Translation_Patch_(2nd)
donĀ“t worry, it was a guess or a miscalculation on my part. I downloaded a long time ago this game with English translation
You think you might need this? https://projectdiva.wiki/wiki/Translation_Patch_(2nd_Low_Price_Edition) It's for Diva 2nd#.
Sorry for the late response, but yeah that's what I meant. It's because the 1st & extend are nearly 100% so why not the 2nd too. But a couple days ago I did come up with an idea that would be worth trying. For the text, it's to try to convert/extract the .bin files from PSP_GAME > SYSDIR into .txt and try to edit/translate it ourselves, then turn it back to a .bin file. And for the menu & pv_start images, just edit them with GIMP. And for the images to take effect, rewrite it over its original on the Diva2Data.cpk file with AFS2EXT. Last is to copy the .cpk file onto your psp that's PSP_GAME > USRDIR > media > afs. Let's hope that it works ^__^
Ok, now I need a little help with what I said I'd try to do. Because I've done nothing but google ways to do the text part (lyrics, songs, modules, exc.) with no luck over the last couple days. Where I'm stuck at is trying to convert, change, and/or extract the binary (.bin) files to text (.txt) so I can edit them. They're the ones that are located in PSP_GAME > SYSDIR. And it's ok if they can't be turned into a text file, I just need to be able to edit them. And the only one I care about editing is the eboot.
The question is, why do you want to use 2nd#? And remember, not everything can be translated with Diva 2nd and 2nd#'s horrible 45 character limit for lyrics and 30 character limit for motion names (not bad actually). Usually, .bin files are opened in Notepad++. Also don't expect me to help so much if you need a "perfect" translation. I'm not good at that, but I'll try to help anyways.
First, thanks for telling me Notepad++ is the answer to editing the .bin files and for the help you'll give me. But then I don't need a perfect translation as I was going to do that part myself. I play on 2nd not 2nd#. And for what I know from the extend english pack, the movements are 22 with possible 38 characters. The lyrics are 50 characters. And what's wrong with playing on 2nd#? You got me there, I don't get it.
What I have to bring up today is that like the english patch is for the 1st & extend, what the 'x' should say for where we what our text to go & take effect. How do we find out & know what the six x's should be for 2nd & 2nd#? Like you see how pic 1 called translation just explains it and I have underlined what I'm talking about. It's not just so the basic lists of things (songs, modules, items, titles, etc.) can say what we want or should say. But to get other parts like descriptions & messages (pic 2 & 3) to do it. The 4th pic called images explains the images you want on the game to take effect. Such as the loading screens, menu titles, and pv_starts. And not everything like you see there has to be listed. Just the .png files you want. The last pic called embedded is for the song lyrics. Everything is edited by notepad and you're given what's called divaconvert to change it to a .bin file to place in your divapatch folder on your PSP. So yeah, like I said before from what I have underlined, what should the 'x' say depending on what it's for? And how do we find out what the 'x' should say?
For the last image, it's the address of the file (which you can see by opening Diva2ExData.cpk in AFS2EXT). And the file you will use to replace should be the same name as the one you want to replace. As for the others, I got no idea XD because I never edited the game's text. P.S: Sorry for late reply, haven't been on the forums for a while ;-;
