This is something I've been curious about, but maybe it's just me because when I was younger I grew up going to concerts and my ears are not sensitive to loud noises.

I found when my GF is over and I'm using my sound bar (because she is apparently a closet Miku fan and loves to sing along with the songs) I never do as well. I've been attempting to E songs on Hard and I find a do a lot more with my PS3 headset cranked up fairly loud regardless if my GF is singing along or not, that doesn't really affect my playing.

It's something about being entirely immersed in the song and ignoring any other possible noises that makes me do a lot better. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I don't play too loud, just enough to hear the song clearly. I need to be able to hear if someone calls me or something. If it's too loud it actually distracts me.

Hm, I actually haven't thought about it. I guess as long as it's loud enough for me to hear the button sounds it's fine, when I'm alone I usually crank it up a bit more but if someone is in the house trying to sleep or something I can turn it down ^^ I don't get distracted by volume but by many other things xD

Most of the time I tend to keep it at a good level where I can hear it but nobody will be bothered. If I'm asked, I will put it down a bit more.

Since I play PDf on the Vita, I would say potentially loud. Also I play with headphones unless I want to use the computer speakers to jam up the volume level.

Because the PSVita's sound volume level is so soft, I have to set it around four levels less from the max volume output. When I play Unhappy Refrain(Especially the chance time), I always have to put it on max volume.

On the Vita I also play it loud enough so I can hear it myself while I don't bother other people in the bus or train.
On the PS3 I usually play on the volume that was on the last time before the TV turned off. Unless it's really loud then I will tune it.
