Project Diva Extend (English Translation Plugin) v0.5-Beta6 By: codestation/Nightsail

Note: To use this patch first you need to install a CFW into your PSP!!!

If you're having problems running the patch on a 5.XX CFW
i recommend updating to 6.XX PRO or 6.39 & 6.60 ME/LME

Tested & Working on 6.20, 6.35, 6.39 & 6.60 PRO-C (If you're still using the lower version of PRO i recommend updating to PRO-C)

IF YOU'RE ENCOUNTERING PROBLEMS RUNNING THE PATCH KINDLY PROVIDE SOME SCREENSHOTS BECAUSE WORDS ARE SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH

When you create a GAME text document do not add .TXT (the reason it's already a text document adding .TXT will make the patch & other plugins undetectable)
[Usually happens if you're using Windows and Extension Settings is set to Hidden]

Usage:

* Copy the divapatch directory to the ms0:/seplugins directory of the PSP and enable
the plugin in game.txt: ms0:/seplugins/divapatch/divapatch.prx 1

* If you use decrypted dlc then use nploader instead of nodrm, also make sure that
nploader.prx is listed before divapatch.prx.

v0.5-beta6 (September 7, 2012)
- Massive translation/fixes. 2200+ changes.
- Fixed a glitch with sample lyric text for color selection in Edit mode.
- Edit mode is translated. (still being tested)
- Names for Edit mode character motions, backgrounds, effects, camera presets,
facial expressions, etc, have been translated.
- Most Diva Room Event titles have been translated. (now verifying them)
- The PD2-to-PDE system data import and other new-game-related text has been translated.
- Almost all song lyrics have been converted to Romaji.
- Many lines have been re-written for better phrasing/grammar, consistency, and clarity.
This includes Player Title descriptions, various menu descriptions, the playlist functions in the Diva Rooms,
various confirmation dialogs, etc...
- All but four bottom-of-the-screen HUD control descriptors have been translated.
Untranslated ones have red/pinkish icons. (Please let us know how to see it, if you find it in-game!)
- Tutorial translated
- Ad Hoc mode is translated. (still being tested)
- Friends system is 99% translated. (still being tested)
- A few more offsets found.
- Changed plugin. Now stores PDE replacement images in a subfolder.

v0.4-r2:

patch updated to 0.4-r2 to try to fix the crash reported by Hinatax01.

v0.4-r1:

Improve image quality: changed png quantizer (pngnq -> pngquant).

v0.4:

- "Edit mode" is further translated.
- "Play records" is translated.
- "DIVA room" is 99% translated.
- Rest of the titles are translated.
- Home, load, save, delete, osk, ad-hoc, and screenshot psp dialogs now are in english.
- Restored support to translate Project Diva 1st.
- Two more songs lyrics are translated to romaji (Sekiranun Graffiti and Rin Rin Signal).
- Almost all modes must be completly translated, with some exceptions:
-- 1% of the Titles.
-- Diva room events (their descriptions are translated).
-- Ad-hoc messages (don't have another psp to test this).
-- Friend system (don't have another psp to test this).
-- Data import/install one-time messages.
-- Edit mode motions, backgrounds, button sounds and other misc texts.

v0.3

- more strings translated in general.
- song high score screen (the one before starting the game)
- top bar titles (the ones with the "home/edit mode/ adhoc/ diva room" texts)
- edit mode setup (song, module, background, effects, items, movements selection).
- very little of edit mode main mode.
- some songs lyrics have been translated into romaji:

How to Install The English Patch Plugin

Download the patch first then extract the pd-extend_patch-0.4-r2.zip

After that CONNECT YOUR PSP via PC/Laptop

Note: If you don't have a seplugins folder just simply create one and name it seplugins and place it inside the root of your MS (ms0) refer to the image)

1.2 Recovery Menu

1.3 Advanced

1.4 And Disable noDRM Engine

2.) Extract nploader.zip then copy/cut "nploader.prx" to your "SEPLUGINS FOLDER"

3.) Add this in your GAME Text (make sure that is loaded before divapatch) refer to the pic below

Note: don't bother me with a ISO patch, i won't do it for 2 reasons: i prefer a plugin patch since it can be used with the UMD/ISO/PSN eboot, and some translations are impossible to do with the classic hex edit (see the patch for the PD 2nd, it has lots of shortened strings due to size constraints)

well there are safe CFW out there but it's your choice if you wanna use the translation plugin that is ^_^

are you using other plugins? (if so try disabling it)

are you using the UMD or the direct rip from the UMD (also known as untouched copy iso)

(just a suggestion) try updating your cfw it's quite outdated

also if possible provide some screenshots

Is my CFW really outdated? I just updated it a couple of months ago.

Anyway I figured out the problem. For whatever reason the line of text that I added to the GAME file had an extra 1 at the end of it. I know I didn't add it because I removed it earlier, but when I checked the file again the extra 1 was back. So I removed it and am now playing the translated game.

Oh wow, I didn't think they'd be updated that fast :D

I doubt I'll upgrade any time soon though, the only reason I updated from what I had (I think it was 5.50) was because I couldn't play a lot of games without patching first (and sometimes even that didn't work)

This translation came at a perfect time too because I have to start a new game and I'd rather understand what I'm unlocking along the way.

I'm also having an issue with getting the patch to act properly, I'm using 6.60 Pro-B10 and everything but the patch is working. I've never soft hacked a PSP before so please bear with me, below are some screen shots of what should be pertinent to solving this issue and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell us which PSP you have (1000, 2000, 3000, Go)? Also, maybe try some other plugins to see if these work
