My first post here...glad to see so many Miku fans. :D <3

I am in the process of building my very own Future Tone Arcade cab and i'd love to share it with you.
Already owning a full size Hori controller and a small DIY ghetto Diva F PS3 cabinet, i decided to go big. Like really big.
    IMG_20170524_182908.jpg
The base is a fake ikea shelf i repurposed, housing a PS4, Samsung HD display, brook fighting board and some 100mm buttons with Cherry switches (anyone know which switches the original cab uses?!), because i like them.

    It's still far from finished,
but i will update my progress here and also make a video later.

Here we go, some picture of the buildprocess. Caution!! Involves totally shoddy workmanship and hotglue!!

    Update:
Installed sidepanel LED strips and covers for the speakers.
Will replace the 12V bulbs in the arrow buttons for 5V LEDs so they will light up properly too.

Nest step: side panel wrapping, acrylic artwork for center and print an artwork for the top.
Also i will redo the twintails (larger, thinner).
Oh and there's the issue of cooling the closed case...
    Any ideas? :)

    Updatetime!
Finalized the vinyl wrapping (mostly crappy), added some stickers, finished the display cover (added a little sticker as bonus of course) and all LEDs are now working.
    Still to do:
    • Top artwork
    • LED lighted frame for top logo
    • Cooling solution for ps4 (ordered a USB fan to put in the case and will make some more holes in the back)
    • add MOAR STICKERS
    • MOAR LEDs!
    • finish the metal finish (?!) on the stand (still looks a bit like aluminium foil..), add adjustable feet
    Optional:
    • rewire dat shit. It's a mess and cables are way to thick.
    • add better speakers. honetly, i shouldn't have cheaped out on that part.
    • clean up the power/cable mess in second drawer.
    • add some colored tape for the edges
    • replace the clicky cherry switches (awesome but loud!) with more suitable ones.
    • upgrade to more silent buttons
    • replace springs (the top buttons have tighter springs, which sucks but managable)
    • MOAR LEDs!
    • invite everyone to a Miku party.

That's really impressive. Really wish I could see it in person, but it seems like almost everyone on this forum is European.

By ideas, do you mean for your cabinet or for new projects?

Wow, this looks beautiful! It was actually this thread & another about custom arcade pads that convinced me to join this forum, haha!

Really though, your attention to detail is remarkable. I love that you included a place to "swipe" the aime card! Maybe for the future, you could do something snazzy for the base of the cabinet? It's the only part that isn't super dressed up. Though at the same time, the lack of design at the base really draws the eye to the rest of the designs! Keep us updated with what you do!

I've been wanting to do this for years, I'm quite impressed. Only suggestion I have is, make it so that you could put in a touch slider module if one becomes available. I'm working on that right now...exactly for these kinds of set ups. All you'd have to do it map it to L1, L2, R1, and R2 on your brook board.

I'm strongly considering doing this miku cab thing with my Victroopers arcade cabinet. Make it a kit that can be installed for Miku mode vs. Robot mode. Keep all the original Konami wiring in there but have a control surface that can be switched out, acrylic changed, marquee changed, etc. Slider, 100MM buttons, the whole works.

Holy crap! That's awesome @TheBeep! Since the actual arcade data for AFT has been leaked into the wild (I grabbed it) I'd like to make a custom AFT cabinet of my own as well. How much did it all cost you to put that together? I'm assuming you had the PS4 already...

I'd want a touch-strip slider of course as well to make it as authentic as possible. Also, would it be possible to build a custom AFT cab using something like this: https://ebay.to/2YJUfJf ? That's an official Sega replacement part for an actual AFT machine. As far as something to drive it all, I do have two spare motherboards and an NVidia graphics card to build a computer for it. Thoughts?
