Oh, an old thread about rhythm games is once again active? I don't play many rhythm games besides Project Diva, but I'll jump in with one that doesn't seem very popular: Deemo. Deemo is originally for iOS but has been released for PS Vita too (I only play it on my phone so I can't say anything about that version, the game uses only the touchscreen). It's a beautiful game where you basically play piano to some nice melodies, mostly original to the game. It also has a story! I think it looks very simple but elegant. It's very different from other rhythm games :P
I could have sworn I posted in this thread about K-Shoot Mania... It's a free PC clone of the SDVX Arcade game. Pretty darn hard, but fun.
I absolutely adore the Rythm Heaven Series. My favourite game series in general is probably a tie between Rhythm Heaven and the Diva series. The Rhythm Heaven series are amazing for working on your rhythm skills, and the newest one (Rhythm Heaven: Mega Mix) is probably my favourite so far. <3 Also, if you like Rhythm games and Final Fantasy, then Final Fantasy: Theatrhythm is just fantastic!
THIS. These games are absolutely fantastic! Another good game I've just played recently is Gitaroo Man Lives (PSP) (also on PS2), absolutely wonderful little game. It's not all that hard, especially compared to Diva, but it was extremely cute and fun. I liked it very much. If you have an android phone or tablet, check out Tonesphere or Beat Beat Vocaloid Plus if it's still on the app store. I think it got pulled. If you want to play something free and in your browser, check out Flash Flash Revolution. It is exactly what it sounds like, but it has a tight-knit community focused on perfecting their hardest songs, and a song library of about 2000 that's constantly added onto by that community. It's quite a fun little game. Things that probably have already been said (I didn't read everything, sorry): Taiko no Tatsujin, Idolm@ster Must Songs (really just Taiko too), and Miracle Girls Festival (made by the Diva team, plays exactly like Diva, but features anime themes and songs).
I really loved Persona Dancing all night, DJ max technica & Xonic, Idolmaster Must songs, Miracle girl festival as well. I enjoyed 575 project, IA on PSvita. Even the Love live bibi was not that bad. And of course on 3ds and Wii u, I have my classics Taiko no tatsujin.
I love rhythm games :D To mention a few: Rhythm Heaven - one of my favorites! A fun and silly rhythm game series from the Warioware team. Taiko no Tatsujin - love this one, also has a lot of good original songs Pop n music - Fun with cute characters and good music in all kinds of genres Gitaroo Man - underrated PS2 gem
Just learned that there's a new DJMAX game coming to the PS4 and it's the old style game. So hyped! :D
It's based off of the main series, which plays like beatmania, but on a controller. Haven't tried the PSP games yet, but I'm looking forward to this one.
Well, it might be that I can't read lane charts to save my life, but gameplay of DJMAX looks unreadable to me. Like, I hardly keep up with 4 lanes on medium difficulties in K-Shoot. That game looks pretty impossible to me. I'd love to try it though, if they have a demo for it when it releases.
I loved the arcade cab and appreciated the 2 last psvita version ... can't wait for this PS4 edition ^3^ (since I can use my FT controller)
Hmmm... this is a bit weird but... I have a few rhythm games in mind This version had been came out on Switch as well. Also, Deemo Reborn has also been made recently. It has not just the songs but also 3D cutscenes and gameplay of exploration and puzzles. If you have known Kingdom Hearts, they made Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory featuring the songs of the series itself. It continues from Kingdom Hearts III + Remind. I have Cytus a on Switch which I couldn’t afford it on mobile (and also VOEZ but who cares). I have Harmoknight on the 3DS. It has music as well.
